A caramel and/or toffee aroma and flavor are part of the character. Aged on rum soaked French oak, generously dry hopped with American Cascade hops.

Served in a snifter glass.
Appearance: Pours a somewhat clear brown creating a hazy copper body. Honestly a beautiful color, has an off-white head that rose to a quarter inch settling quickly.
Smell: Has an apparent alchohol scent but feels more like a rum hit that slightly distorts the nostrils. Little sweet hit and not hard to take in....Smells very good actually wish it stuck with you a little more.
Taste: A pretty ccomplex taste to it, comes off a little woody notes makes your brain think cask ale right away. Slightly sweet with pieces of caramel that offset its hops. I have no complaints at all.
Mouth: You know while drinking this gem, you can actually breathe in the taste before it even touches your mouth and for that alone I feel slightly biased. Smooth, not exactly as sticky as I would like it to be with medium carbonation, does come a little light maybe for some but very easy to intake.
Overall: A very mellow and so smooth barleywine. It's strong don't get me wrong but what I am getting at is that it definitely doesn't overload your palates like some others that I have had that feel like you are sipping rubbing alcohol. An honor and true pleasure to have. Glad to to say first...Salud!
