I enjoyed this on tap at the Mechanicsburg Location served chilled in a pint.

The color is dark amber with a thick appearance -hazed and thin light beige head with very fine bead with lace that sticks ok. The smell has a strong sweet odor with mild spice and light alcohol ester and grain aroma. The feel is very smooth with medium carbonation and semi-full body with slightly dry finish.

The taste has a flavor of dark wheat -somewhat grain influenced with mild toasted accent and subtle sweetness from the wheat with a mild yeast spice and a light alcohol influence as it finishes with a subtle caramel quality in the residual taste. Overall this is a very good wheatwine, not intensely hopped or full of alcohol, but a substantial and drinkable strong wheat ale for 8%

From a Harrisburg ABC visit on 31JAN14.... After a glass of Maibock and a quesadilla, the next round was a pint of wheatwine.

The shaker pint was filled with a clear, deep chestnut/garnet colored bier. Had a bit of carbo, and the head was tan, fine and thin. Good lacing was etched on the glass. The aroma was quite restrained, but i did find a hint of hops and mild sweetness. It was quite smooth, and the body was a good medium.

Flavor also had a hint of sweetness, and some suggestions of vanilla. Had a touch of some faint brown sugar and perhaps a smidge of honey. Had a lightly herbal hop finsih. Not bad... Prosit!!

Had on tap. Clear dark brown with a mushroom colored collar. Smell and taste are the same: liquid toffee, smooth sweet malts, vanilla, and dark wheat, but it is all watery and does not meld. Booze is there but not enough to be a primary flavor. Feel is watery, sweet, malty and relatively dull

a: This was a clear, somewhat dark golden color, served with a large foamy cap.

s: Nice honey aromas with a hint of grains and toffee. Pretty subdued overall.

t: Again, the honey was nice, there just wasn't much else here. Not even alcohol, I never would have guessed the abv. Good stuff, just wish there was more.

m: Just doesn't feel like 8.2

o: Not bad, just kinda...
