This is a cask-conditioned one-time release (one-time because I've never seen it before). The ale is served in a tumbler and is chilled.

Appearance: The ale is a deep brown in color, almost too dark to tell if there is any sediment. The beer has a creamy head indicative of a cask-poured beer.

Smell: The ale has a nice, smooth smoked aroma. I looked for (unsuccessfully) an applewood aroma but could not find it, nice nonetheless.

Taste: The smoked malts add a very nice kick to this ale, giving it a spicy, piquant flavor.

Mouthfeel: The smokiness is very pleasing without being over the top.

Drinkability: The flavor is nice but could easily overwhelm the palate after 3 or so.
