A-Deep copper with no head.
S-Bready malt with a light smokiness. Smoke aroma becomes somewhat more prevelent as the beer warms.
T-Sweet malt with a light smoked flavor. Also a strange unidentified flavor that wasnt bad but....
M-Too thin for my liking...lacked a strong supportive malt backbone. No malty sweetness either.
D-Ok...but certainly not enough malt or smokiness to be called Smoked Ale! Once again a great idea to do something a bit different by ABC that comes up short! When will they brew something off the wall that has balls!?

Poured a woody brown with a thin wisp of a head. Good lacing. Smelled and tasted like BBQ in a bottle. Hefty malt profile is punctuated with a heavy dose of smokiness. Just enough carbonation to clean the palate of the sugar/smokey quality and prepare you for another. Very drinkable brew, wish they bottled it.

On tap at Gettysburg. Shows off a dark brown color, almost black. Has an attractive thick, dense head which remains as a thin coating throughout the glass. No lacing. Upfront aromas of smoked sausage or bacon with some dark roasted malts and eartiness as support. Mouthfeel was passable being a tad thin and somewhat watery. CO2 level was nicely subdued. Flavors are a decent balance of some sweetness from the dark roasted malts and the somewhat restrained smokiness, which is not as agressive as it is in the aroma. A decent shot at the style and nice to get to try something a bit different at a BP. However, a slightly heftier mouthfeel and smokey flavor may help improve things.
