A cask-conditioned offering brewed on location at the Camp Hill ABC.
A: The ale is a deep brown-black color with a cappucino colored head.
S: The stout has a roasted aroma that is highlighted by a java scent that is dry and chocolatey.
T: The stout has several layers of flavor. The first sensations are the creamy smooth softness of a hand pump. That soon gives way to a dry roasted malt flavor that is somewhat sweet on the palate. The next flavors to emerge are a java acidity, dry and tight flavorwise. The coffee flavors are a bit of an afterthought within the stout, but when they do finally appear the depth that they add is pleasant.
M: The dry roasted stout flavors and the soft, almost-chocolatey java flavors mix well together and give the stout a wide breadth of flavors.
D: Very drinkable. I had two with dinner. As with all of ABC's cask beers, when this one is gone, it is gone. That being said, it is well worth a visit.
