Served in an oversized mug and a bit too cold at the brew pub.
Pours a hazy dark amber red/brown color. Thin lace of an off white color full of large bubbles for a head with no retension and no lacing to be found. Nose initially has notes of vinegar than reveals slight hops and some oak characteristics like vanilla and a bit of caramel in the background. Taste is slightly bitter upfront with notes of vanilla and bourbon. Light to medium feel that is for the most part flat. Lingering taste of bourbon coupled with vinegar is all that is left in the mouth. This was a good try and I honor the attempt but I think this beer is starting to turn even though it was recently tapped. I would not recommend trying it.
ABC really needs to get their act together. Nearly all of the beers I have had on tap this year have not only been way too cold (to the point where the mug that has been hanging on the wall is even overly chilled) and the beer is almost completely flat.
