I had this on tap for the Back in Black sampler at ABC in Harrisburg served chilled in a goblet - listed as brewed in Collegeville and 89ibus.

The color is black still appearance which is odd for a rye beer, let alone anIPA, and head doesn't revive when swirled. Smell of dark malt with an odor of spice perhaps anise with gentle roasted rye accent. The feel is decent with slightly thin and little sweet around the edges, but has a deep earthiness and light medicinal quality with dark malt roastiness and mostly dry finish with low carbonation.

The flavor has a slightly woody and mild caramel element with dark malt in the flavor with light roasted element and slight anise note with earthy hoppy accents and gnetle dark rye bread taste with a slight hint of alcohol in the finish. Overall a good but not exceptional take on the style. Pretty mediocre IPA and just doesn't have a lot to offer as the 89 ibus are practically undetectable it is decent but lackluster drinkability wise.
