Cask with Mosaic hops at Cask Days. Served in a mason jar.
A - White foam settles to a collar and some bubbles. Transparent golden body. Your typical cask DIPA.
S - Massive Mosaic hops, with the obligatory blueberry, tropical fruits, and zesty pine. A sweet doughy malt backdrop reveals this is a bigger beer, but there's no obvious alcohol.
T - Like other good Pizza Port DIPA there's intense hop flavor up front and potent bitterness in the finish. Hops present a surprising spruce note along with the obligatory tropical fruits and berries. Again, no obvious booze. I could have stood for a tad more malt sweetness to mitigate the bitterness, but it's still quite good.
M - Medium body, smooth, creamy texture, low carbonation, and a mildly dry finish with some lingering stickiness and hop oils
D - Delicious brew. In you face, as one would expect from a Pizza Port DIPA, but deliciously so. Glad this made its way to Ontario. One of my favorites of the fest.
