Canned 05/18/18
Appearance - Pours clear and golden orange in color with an off-white, near two-finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds with a thick ring around the edge of the glass. A few spots make up the lacing.
Smell - Citrusy aroma with orange and grapefruit. Hint of stonefruit. Light caramel undertone.
Taste - Follows the nose. Orange and grapefruit character upfront and throughout with lesser notes of pine, spice and a faint touch of apricot. Solid malt backbone that's mostly toasted biscuit, but with a good touch of caramel sweetness. Finish displays fair bitterness with lingering grapefruit pith.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker before a crisp, slightly dry finish.
Overall - Good, solid classic West Coast IPA. Not much else to say.

On tap at Pizza Port San Clemente 02/20/17. Nice amber look , Malty biscuit with citrus notes definitely tangerine and mild grapefruits. Pleasant combination of Malty and citrus not as piney as expected from an IPA. Reminiscent of New Belgium Citradelic a great introduction to the IPA style.

On Tap - Pizza Port San Clemente & later from growler
Notes taken on 05/17/14
A: Dark caramel amber with a semi-translucent look and a smallish layer of khaki cream that settles over top. Good retention effort with a few sticky suds left clinging to the glass wall. Looks quite tasty.
S: The aroma on this one is all hop flowers ripe with pink grapefruit and tangerine peel. I get some lesser notes of lemony pine with a soft herbal sway to it. Touch of bready malt underneath and some light caramel sweetness to round out the nose. Very fruity and fresh.
T: Great balance of hop bitters and bready malt sweetness. Just the right amount of high hop bitterness to it. Sticky and resinous citrus, grapefruit, tangelo, pine, and some mild earthy herbs. Alcohol is totally masked throughout. Very dry bitter and resinous just how I like. Straight West Coast traditions here.
M: Moderate to lighter body with a nice creamy consistency given from the carb levels. Good hop pucker across the palate with a dry and resinous finish. Light oily residues coat the mouth and linger.
D: Probably one of my favorite offerings sampled from San Clemente and very close to the Pseudo IPA actually. Its fruity and dank and resinous with a drying pucker and superb drinkability. Yet another short lived PP growler.
