Had while on a trip to CA. Pours a slightly hazy vibrant orange gold color. Bright but smooth citrus aroma. Taste is similar to the smell with bright citrus notes. Very well balanced interplay between the hop selections and the sweet malt. Just really well done. A surprising moderate to high bitterness finishes it off. Just a fantastic beer - which is good praise coming from a east coast guy who gets only malt-anemic beers these days.

On-tap at Pizza Port San Clemente
A: The beer pours a clear golden color with a thin layer of white foam.
S: Smells sort of kolsch-like. Pretty bland with a bit of pale malt and cracker type malt. Some hints of corn and a moderate sweetness overall. Light hop notes, mostly grass, with a definite graininess.
T: A bit watery on the palate, but not bad. Sweet with cracker malts, assorted cereal grains, and a definite corn flavor. Again, not much in the way of hops and very little bitterness.
M: Light bodied with medium to high carbonation.
O: As far as this style goes in US brewpubs, this isn't bad, but an authentic kolsch would be much better.

Pint at Pizza Port
Poured a bright golden yellow color wih a small 1/4 inch head that went away quickly
Did not much of a smell and the taste was pretty plain
Could drink a lot of these because it is light, taste does not last long and the alcohol percentage is fairly low

I had this beer on tap at Pizza Port in San Clemente on 10/2/04. Of all the beers I had at the San Clemente location that day, this was my favorite. It was served with a nice orange color and a thin white and creamy head. The aroma is malty with a hoppy infusion.
The flavor is complexly layered with hops and malt flavors dancing back and forth. Neither flavor dominates, but they each take turns at exciting your taste buds. The malt profile is very bready and not very sweet. It is well balanced between sugars and thick starches. There is definately a floral spiciness to the hops with light hints of cherries.
This beer is outstanding and would be a great daily drinker if I lived close to the brewery. Well done Pizza Port, well done.

Pint style glass
Probably the lightest beer I have ever had at any of the Pizza Ports. This is one I had at the San Clemente Pizza Port.
A bright transparent golden color. Decent bubbles with a white head with very little retention. Not much lacing. Smell is grassy, a balance of malt with a fruity tang finish.
Flavors are mainly grain. A medium bodied malt. Hops add some flavor. A grassy finish. Flavors are mellow. Nothing over powers the other.
An extremely easy drinking beer. It is also one of the freshest feeling beers I have ever had. A definite palate cleanser. A great beer on a very hot day. This one will cool you down. Excellent beer.

This brew uses crystal malts and Liberty hops to produce a very thirst-quenching beer. Clear golden colored and light on the palate, this is a simple, yet effective lager. I had this in a sampler with the other Pizza Port beers. It is their lightest.
