On tap at Pizza Por San Clemente, CA 02/20/17. Nice hazy golden look with very nice head. True to the German tradition noble hops and cloves at the nose but not over bearing with a refreshing malty finish. Overall This is a well done hefeweizen.

On tap at Pizza Port in San Clemente, CA.
Pours a clear gold with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, banana, spice, and yeast. Taste is much the same with a banana flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

On-tap at Pizza Port San Clemente
The pour is a hazed yellow color with a white head. Aroma is banana and sweet wheat bread with a bit of clove. A touch of citrus peel and light vanilla notes, too. The flavor has a pleasant sweetness of bread, wheat, and banana. Some clove flavor, but I would prefer more. A hint of citrus peel to it as well.

On tap at PP OB. Snifter. Brewed at Pizza Port San Clemente.
A: Yellow orange with a frothy white cap.
S: Grainy malt with sweet citrus flesh that brings to mind orange and tangerine.
T: Very grainy with a lower moderate sweetness. There's some orange and apple. Strong biscuity flavor. Strange cardboard notes.
M: Lower medium body with medium carbonation.
Overall: Not very good. Strange happenings in the flavor.

Draught at PP San Clemente on July 2, 2009. Hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Wheat, lemon, clove, and unripe banana aroma. The flavor is in the spicy side with some banana, light grainy wheat and a sweet finish. Creamy, almost full body. Nice flavors, but just too sweet to be really refreshing.

A- a cloudy dark golden color. really nice. small head with the pour from the bartender, I think he was trying to give me as much beer as I could get in the pint glass. Nice look to it though.
S- Lots of banana here, no clove that I can speak of, but I love the banana in a hefe. call it my sweet tooth but I love this smell. Nice wheat there too, it doesn't get left out.
T- Wheat and banana. Pretty simple, not too much to think about, it's a nice beer to quaff.
M/D- spritzy carbonation as a wheat beer should. This was a good wheat beer, but I like the banana sweetness. Others might not like so much so I could see how other people would not like this beer, but for me, I thought it was a nice wheat.

Pint at PP San Clemente
Pour was golden yellow with a thick silky white head that stuck around for a while
Smell had a little citrus and was full of yeast and barley
Taste was nice with a little dryness and bitterness caused by liberty hops, nice subtle lemon aftertaste
Could drink a lot of these, especially during summer when it is hot

I had this beer on 10/2/04 at Pizza Port in San Clemente. The beer was listed as a hefeweizen at the bar, but on their website and here they call it a pale wheat ale. similar, but not exactly the same.
It poured a cloudy yellow that almost looked like lemonade. It was clear enough to see through, but it was not completely clear. The aroma is of sweet spices like cinnamon and some citrus notes. The taste is full of slight spice notes from nutmeg and cinnamon with familiar citrus and banana notes to finish. The body of the beer is very thin and could use some improvement.

This brew is listed as an unfiltered wheat, but it poured clear yellow. When I asked the bartender about it, he said that the beer was brewed before the place opened & since it took a bit longer to open than planned, all the yeast settled to the bottom. It has a nice banana nose and a clean, crisp flavor
