At Pizza Port Solana Beach. $6.50 for a pint. Served 40-50 degrees.
Pours a copper yellow, with medium head.
Strong grapefruit and pine aroma, with St Johns Wort herbal aroma.
Taste of ripe grapefruit, pine, candi sugar, and a strong malt backbone.
Medium to high carbonation, strong hop bitterness that stays with you for a few seconds after the finish, and a pleasant malt sweetness.
This is a pedestrian Pizza Port IPA, with lots of in-your-face hops.

I got this on tap at Pizza Port OB. Not sure if they brew it there as well, but this one clocks in at 8.5%. Clear yellowish-gold. Smelled like grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruits. Taste followed the nose for the most part. Very dank and resiny. Huge tropical fruit. Good bitterness that didn't overpower the aroma. Malt is light but is nicely balanced. Not too sweet. Mouthfeel is a little thick although I like it as it lends itself well to the juicy hops. It's like taking a bite out of a mango. Carbonation is a little lacking. That was my one gripe. Overall, a great DIPA that's been floating under the radar. They should consider canning this one. I would buy it all the time.

A: Straw gold, lightly burnished look. Good clarity to this one with some tiny streaming bubbles travelling upwards into a smallish white foam head. Not ample enough to retain but with a fair amount of sticky streamers decorating the glass.
S: Redolent with zesty pink grapefruit backed by some sweet malt sugars. Lightly dank and floral on the trail end with some mild pine notes. Very clean and fruity with no alcohol detectable in the nose. Lots of grapefruit character here which is always a good thing in a DIPA.
T: Grapefruit and pine with some dank weedy elements. Nice tongue tingling bitter action although it is a moderate to low amount of actual bitterness on the palate. I get some sweet sugary cracker bits and soft caramel malt mixed in nicely. Greatly balanced between the malt and hops making for a mighty fine drink. Crisp and lighter with some resinous linger and the alcohol kept well hidden.
M: Medium body with a nice frothy texture provided by the carbonation. Touch of peppery bitterness across the palate. Finishes lightly dry with a nice crisp action and a good amount of leftover resins
D: This is a really nice Double coming out of Bressi Ranch. Enjoyed this one quite a bit better than the Noserider. Ends dryer with a bigger hop presence to malt sweetness ratio. Not their best stuff but worth checking this one out.
