On tap at Pizza Port – Bressi Ranch
Full pint – 02/21/2015
A: Golden straw body with a crystal clear appearance to it. Looks almost watered down itself. Nice frothy finger wide stack of ivory foam on top. Holds true for a few lengthy minutes while leaving some random swaths of lace left clinging to the glass.
S: The nose is not really all that aromatic for me. I get some peachy floral hops and ripe apricot notes along with a few elements of pine and citrus mixed in. A bit too tamed for my liking although what is here is nice and hoppy.
T: The flavors are quite mellow as well and showcasing pine and citrus mostly. Not super flavorful at all with some undercurrents of floral apricot coming in. Finish kicks in a touch of orange citrus rind and this one is super light on the malt body. Lacks that hop punch needed to make it anything exciting here. Just light and crisp watered down hops mostly. Not all that bad but a pretty big step down from Ponto I would say.
M: The body is super light as expected with a high amount of fizzy carbonation to it. There is some mild hop bitterness there and the finish is light, dry, and crisp. Really lacking body but I guess that’s what makes it is a Session.
D: Super light and low ABV, this can be a nice refresher when it comes to drinkability. That said compared to the mass amount of Session IPA’s released this year this one is really lacking. Could really use an additional charge of flavor here. Somewhat disappointing when there are multitude of better offerings available.
