On tap at Pizza Port – Bressi Ranch
Full pint – 02/21/2015
A: The pour is a lightly burnished golden yellow hue with a brilliant clarity to it. Plenty of tiny bubble action that conjures up some craggy off white foam. Llightly etched lacing adheres to the glass as I make my way through the drink.
S: I get some real fruity hop aromas to this one. Tropical mango with tangerine and grapefruit citrus followed by a spike of grassy lemon zest. There is a touch of light earthy herbs to the finish. Not much malt coming through other than a slight cracker like presence. Smells quite fresh and hoppy.
T: Offshore delivers a big juicy hop bight layered with mango, citrus fruits, and lemony herbals. A light golden malt body gives a crisp cracker character to the brew and provides a finish that is bone dry. At nearly 7% ABV the alcohol is completely masked here and I am finding this one very crushable with some fruity fresh hop flavors. Overall just really clean in the approach and well balanced all throughout.
M: The body is super light and crisp with plenty of sprtizy carbonation on the tongue. There is a moderately high amount of perceived bitterness to this and the finish is super dry with a slight resinous pucker. Mostly clean and balanced however.
D: Offshore took me by surprise some in that there is great fresh hop flavor here packaged in a light crushing body. Drinks more like a session would. Another great little offering from the Pizza Port chain. Not terribly complex or intense by any means. Just a West Coast style done well.

on tap May 31 at Naja's in Redondo Beach. Poured into a pint glass.
Pour was a hazy, cloudy yellow. Not a pretty IPA.
Smells and taste were perfect citrusy, hoppy, bitter, a wonderful tasting IPA.
