On tap at Pizza Port – San Clemente, CA
Full Pint – 06/06/15
A: Bright straw gold with a fair amount of clarity to it. Some hop haze is evident but it only seems to enhance the body color here. Skimpy ivory white head. More of a light film over top with some mild strokes of sticky lace that press up against the glass walls.
S: White wine grape and gooseberry with grapefruit zest, apricot, dank flowers, and mild tropical fruits. Impressively fresh with the Mosaic hops showcased in good form. There is a faint underpin of malt cracker to this albeit very subtle. Loving the juiciness to his one already.
T: Taste is a super Mosaic session with a moderate amount of hop bitterness that bites at the palate. All tropical like with unripe berry, mango, goose berry, grapefruit, and a little musky melon noted. The body is super dry with a light malt cracker base that only seems to accentuate the juicy hop profile with that little touch of breadiness. Has a bit of dank herb and resin at the finish and no noticeable alcohol. Very solid all around.
M: Very light filling body with an upper moderate amount of carbonation keeping it lively on the tongue. Some light constricting bitterness gives way for a very dry crisp finish. Lightly lingering and resinous but fairly clean mostly.
D: Pitcher worthy. A super crusher. Could session a few of these which we did. Come to the Port and check this one out. Gotta love dem Mosaics.
