There was a time period where it seemed like Pizza Port was cranking out the stouts with nuts in them. This one was decent, but pales in comparison to the superior Deeeeez (Smokin) Nuts.
Nonetheless, Pizza Port almost universally makes good looking beer, and this one is no exception. Rich black malts, 1" cream and tan colored head. Mild roast and nuttiness in the aroma, delivers as advertised.
Taste, pretty easy drinking stout. Would easily supplant Guinness I would hope if next to it, thicker, richer, but without a massive alcohol aspect to it, nice and smooth use of the oats. I dunno if hazelnuts or something else. Ultimately, a smooth oatmeal stout, no frills and well done.
