The endless summer - who doesn't love it? Yeah, I know that I'm in New Jersey but I love the Golden State and when I was on the road out that way, I had to grab a can of this. I loved the two brewers that were involved in this beer's creation and this wasn't a bad American Pale Ale to kick back with, even if summer was months away from returning to this neck of the woods...
Canned on 6/21/18, this had a hazy, deep apricot hue to with some light seeping in around the edges. Enough head topped this off and the lacing that remained as I worked my way through this. There were hints of dark sediment in the liquid but thankfully, none of that settled at the bottom. Full of deep floral and pine in the nose, the taste felt like rural California and Florida put together as the wild flowers, orange blossom dryness, and outdoorsy nature of this beer really emerged once it warmed up. Yes, this was old but it could have used a bit more hops to it to balance out the grainy, floral mouthfeel but at least the carbonation was spot-on as it kept this from feeling too heavy.
Not a lot of booze here and only a bit of warming took hold of me before I finished this off. If I were to return to the left coast, I'd want to want to have a can of this handy in Orange County as I attempted to hang ten. A fresh can would have been great but as it was, there was enough going on here for me to like - even during the winter...

Pours a foggy orange with two fingers of white foam. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is a light bite of pine and resin with dense mango puree. Flavor profile is pine, resin, mango, and tangerine. The aroma comes off a little artificial, but the flavor profile is a little more natural tasting. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a velvety, fine-grainy texture. Overall, a fair pale ale. It seems to be trying to blend west coast style hops with the bitter, biting pine and resin, and then smooths out a little with tropical fruits.
