Sample at the brewpub. This little brother to the Big Wednesday pours a lightly hazed yellow color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily. Top ring of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat, mild hops and yeast. Light-bodied and moderately spicy with wheat and bitter hops flavors, along with some yeast. The finish is sweetly spiced with a lingering hoppy flavor. Seems a little disjointed but decent overall.

Solana Beach. Pours hazy gold with a bubbly white head. Wheat, hops, banana, and spice in the nose. Taste is a cross between a German hefe and a California XPA. Good amount of banana, yeast esters, and spice up front before the pepper and resin of the hops take hold. Different, but still good.

Pint at Pizza Port Solana Beach for four dollars and some change

A-Dark orange in color with hints of golden highlights, 3/4 inch soapy white head, some retention, minimal lacing

S-Aroma reminded me of a mix between a grand cru and a saison, lots of spices and fruit, also a hint of hoppiness, Belgian yeast

T-First taste was apricot and watermelon, then more fruits with peaches and plums, some malt in the middle, then booze and a hint of dry hops in the finish, aggressive spices and farmhouse undertones do not stop attacking the taste buds, malt is sugary and full of sweet caramel, the balance was all over the place, even tasted some flowery accents at one point, too much fruit and hot alcohol to be enjoyable, sweetness dominated this brew

M-Full and really thick body, very syrupy, not much carbonation, sweet, boozy, and spicy mouthfeel, taste lingered too long

D-Could barely finish my pint of this, super heavy on the stomach and the high ABV eventually caught up with me, alcohol is not hidden, not smooth

Bartender recommended this new brew to me with my pepperoni and sausage pizza, ended up being a bad food and beer pairing but oh well, this beer did not do much for me and would not drink it again, not recommended
