On-tap at Pizza Port in Solana Beach.

Pours a hazy lemon-yellow color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of bright and slightly tart citrus fruits - grapefruit and lemons. Also present are lighter hints of indistinct spices and floral hop aromas.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Very light malt flavors with a slightly biscuit-y edge to them kick things off and are joined quickly by good amounts of citrus hops with hints of spiciness. The citrus flavors are joined by mild amounts of leafy hops midway through the sip and then carry through to a mildly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass without any problems and could have another.

Overall this wasn't the best traditional Belgian IPA but it was still easy-drinking. Worth a shot to see what you think for yourself.

An odd brew indeed. This beer pours like a classic cloudy and unfiltered wheat beer. A Belgian IPA? Offers an inch of frothy head initially, sinking to a thin cap and light lacing.

The nose has no belgian yeast and no hops whatsoever. WTF!

Taste follows the program of a wheat beer. Somewhere between the German Hefe. style and a lighter American version thereof, this brew is rather aimless and homeless.

Offers a decent feel and drink for what it is, yet for a Belgian IPA this is a very stray dart and I would have to assume a mislabeled keg.

Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Cream, vanilla, lemons, and orange candy in the nose. Taste is strange and great. Dominant yeast esters, bubblegum, and lemons; almost like a trippel or a German hefe. The hops kick in later in the glass as it warms. Apricot, grapefruit, and tangerine, but no real pine that I could taste. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Warm alcohol in the finish.
