Another first review for BA. Had this at the DIPA festival on February 8, 2020. This was kind of a shock that it wasn't better. I mean, Pizza Port is 1st tier stuff.
Has a light haze to it despite not being billed that kind of beer. 1/3" white head. Dull bronze/amber color scheme. Aroma didn't have the expected Mosaic pungency. I dunno, maybe they didn't dial it up from the ollie pop pale ale number. Either way, there was a mild caramel current under the mild hopping, especially for Mosaic and PP.
Taste was alright. Was similar to another offering in that it got better, but possibly only because of the maltier than expected aspect that led to a bit of smoothing out of the mouth feel down the road. Still wasn't hitting the taste buds as Mosaic. Mild hints of caramel, mint and guava. Dunno. Yes its tough to compete with having a bunch of the same style of beer the same day, but when others stand out, I can't say you didn't have your chance. Would definitely revisit again just based on PP's legacy.
