Had on-tap at Pizza Port in San Clemente. Pours an amber-orange colour with white head. Some mild lacing, ok head retention as there still is a small ring of head towards the bottom of the pint. Smells of fruity hops, quite a light malt balance. This is a very easy drinking type beer, probably not goign to excite too many people, but I could easily see having pitchers of this.

Poured an amber brown with maroon highlights that had a thin head and left a little lacing sticking to the glass. The hops were pretty mild but slightly grassy with caramel malts and citrus notes. Upfront on the palate the faint hops and citrus grapefruit mesh pretty good and come together to produce a slight bitter bite with citrus orange accents and a good caramel malt backbone to hold it down. The brew was medium in body with a good amount of carbonation which had a citrusy, bready, and slight hoppy crisp finish. Overall it was really drinkable and would drink it all night. Makes for a good session beer.

Thanks to James for bringing this Whale to share.
A: The pour is a nice amber color with a fluffy white (maybe a bit off-white) head.
S: The nose is nice and citrusy with some oranges and grapefruits. A fair amount of bready malts, too.
T: The flavor is fairly standard for a pale ale, though it was not quite as hoppy as I was thinking it would be from the nose and the usual Pizza Port style. Fairly heavy on the bready and toasty malts.
M: The body is medium with a crisp carbonation to it. Quite pleasant.
D: A pretty standard but easy drinking pale ale. Not bad, but not mind blowing either.
