On tap at PP solano beach

Poured a dark brown in color with brown highlights when held up to the light that had a thin frothy head and left good lacing sticking to the glass. The aroma had some noticeable booze with various grains, brown sugar, and slight banana notes but also a tad of molasses coming through as well. The taste actually had mild roasty character but the booze was more hidden. It had various grains, brown sugar , and banana accents with a touch of molasses. The brew was light to medium in body with a good amount of carbonation which had sweet, mild fruity, roasty, and sticky finish. I thought it was a solid weizenbock and was drinking great paired up with our pizza.

Consumed at Pizza Port Solana Beach, CA on December 28th, 2010.

Pours an aggressively carbonated and clear deep reddish/mahogany. The finger-thick head looks to be from nitro, though it was not served so. Impressive.

Aroma of brown sugar and alcohol.

The flavor is well-rounded and balanced: fruity and malty and minimally bitter. Is there rye in this? Wheat? Reminds of dark multigrain bread. Medium sweetness. Fleeting trace of banana.

Medium mouthfeel and carbonation on palate.

This is a great winter beer, though not world-class. One pint was as filling as two pints of most beers!

Beer on drfat at the Pizza Port at Solano beach. Served in a shaker pint. Beer is brown and hazy with almost no head, carbonation is low and the broken head leaves a little lacing on the glass. Look good.

Aroma is a little sweet and banana-y with a roastiness to it.

Beer is medium to light in body with minimal sweetness to it and a roasty finish. Not my favorite weizenbock. The yeast character is low in the forward to midpalate and threes us less wheat character than I would want from this style. Still a decent beer.
