Pours an ominous pitch black with a tawny colored head that exhibits good retention.
Smell is chocolatey and boozy. Some light vanilla notes as well. A hint of cherry liquor.
Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, a slight earthiness. Some tannins as well. Some coffee and smokey notes as well. It's kinda like chocolate covered chocolate, only it's a beer.
Thick, chewy, viscous, awesome.
Chocolatey, smokey, dare I say peaty. Probably amazing with a cigar. Might be a good one to convert someone who is a scotch fan to team beer.

-black as can be with a straight up thin brown head. not much on the retention aspect
-big time chocolate, 1st wiff. then some good coffee and roast notes come in
-a very good, bittersweet chocolate taste. the most legit chocolate tasting stout i have had. tastes real, without that artificial sweet taste like in some other chocolate stouts. it has a good bitter end to it that helps this effect, think dark chocolate
-very chewy, thick and creamy. actually, it reminds me of the thickness of actual melted chocolate which lends well to the overall experience
-just reread the taste really. i enjoyed this beer a lot and would love to someday see this in bottles
