I don't remember this being an APA, but I do remember it being the worst beer of the night.

A - Pale-golden beer with a frothy head that left some pretty nice lacing on the sides.

S - A little bit of syrup, floral notes, pale malts, slight bit of understated spice.

T - Taste is kind of boring, with mostly pale malts and some floral notes. It tastes slightly sweet with not enough there to balance it, but there isn't really a ton going on anyway.

M - A little slick, light, moderate carbonation.

O - Wouldn't drink this again. It's not like it's bad, but with so many other fine choices this one is easy to pass on.

On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach for their first anniversary. Tulip.

A: Burnished gold with a big white head. Much scattered lacing.

S: Floral and lightly spicy with notes of melon and orange. Malt is lightly crackery. Hops are nice and aromatic, and somewhat earthy.

T: Lightly bitter with earth and melon. Malt is faint and sort of grainy. Pretty innocuous. No alcohol.

M: Upper light in body with moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is dry and sticky.

Overall: Not bad, but a bit bland.

On tap at PP San Clemente. Spoke to the brewer. This is a single hop pale. Brewer's gold (hence the name in Spanish).

Floral and spicy mainly floral on nose. Strong bitter presence.

Carbonation maybe slightly above average; but still great.

Really nice beer. Would be nice to see other single hop beers around.
