Dark yellow, medium turbidity, didn't make much of a head. Tropical fruit aroma. Papaya, mango, pineapple.
Sweetness, not as sour as I was expecting. There really wasn't too much else, just some fruit and sugar. Didn't get what all the hububb was about back in the day. Didn't have a bretty character, bugs seemed to have barely soured this up. Maybe it was just a little young for my tastes.

Getting around to finishing my notes from BBF. This was hands down the best beer of the night. Went back to this table many, many, many times.
A - Poured a dark pink, ruby hue with a small fizzy head. This is clearly going to be fruity.
S - Great nose of sour, tart raspeberries, cherries, and maybe some other dark fruits. Light citrus and good Brett too.
T - Ohhh yeah. there it is. Is it possible to get this in say, mouthwash form? The tart raspberries, sour cherry notes, good funk, I want to have this on my tongue at all times.
M - Nice and tart in the mouth with a nice amount of carbonation. Super drinkable.
O - Yeah, this beer was amazing. I must have had an easy 2 pints of this, which is impressive considering the pours. Just delicious.

From 09/09/11 notes. Had many pours of this at both Night of the Funk and Belgian Beerfest and this was my favorite beer of the weekend. Was originally listed as "Anit Ox" but Tomme said that was a typo, and should have been Anti Ox, short for Anti Oxidant. ABV is 6%.
a - Pours a murky dark pink-red color with a few bubbles and moderate carbonation evident. Looks dark and fruity. Looks a little bit like Framboise De Amorosa.
s - Smells of sour raspberries, light tart lemon and citrus, brett, and sour cherries and other dark fruits. Very sour and funky, really, really enjoyable.
t - Taste is amazing. Tons of brett and funk, tart and sour raspberries and cherries, a little oak/wood, and lactic. Again, super funky and tart raspberries; just awesome.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Tart and easy to drink.
o - Overall a really amazing wild ale. Tons and tons of sour dark fruits, especially cherries and raspberries, and funk. I thought this was the standout of the weekend and one of the better sours I've had from Lost Abbey, especially recently. Would love for them to bottle this one.

Poured out of a pitcher (assuming it was on tap) into a two ounce tasting glass. Had at the Belgian Beer Festival in Boston.
A.clamato colored, pink head
S.sour 7-up smell
T.tart citrus ... gummy candy...so much here
M.light
D.nice and complex. Wild ale from the US are really starting to taste unique and not like a copy of their oversees brethren.

Wow, wow, wow. I can't say enough about this beer. I attended the Belgian Beer Fest this afternoon and stumbled upon this beer by accident. I was totally amazed. I am a Rodenbach and Sam Adams Stony Brook Red fan. The Flemish Sour Red ales are my favorites. Another great one is the Little Big Beer by Allagash. Anyhow, after an hour of so of tasting, this is the beer that stood above all of them. I truly adored it.
The color, the aroma, the feel, the after taste. Simply amazing. I congratulated the brew master and he deserved it. Now the only challenge is where can I find this beer locally? I want to drink more of it.

on-tap, brouwers on lost abbey night
appearance: served in an unbranded snifter, bright pinkish-purple body, no head whatsoever
smell: fresh raspberries, tart cherry, funk, lemon
taste: fresh and fruity - tartness levels are on the low end of moderate (lower than the framboise) and the added fruit provides for a relatively high sweetness level. Raspberry puree, tart cherry, lemon zest, funky brett, wood. Happy to have tried this - pretty fun blend.
mouthfeel: light, low carbonation, mild tartness
overall: nice - interesting, but a bit sweet

Drank on tap at the 5th anniversary party. Dark yellowy red and hazy. Sweet mango and passion fruit aroma.
Taste was remarkably sweet, barely, if any sour flavors going for it, just massive sweetness. Could have used more oxidation, no hop noticeable. Tropical fruit flavors seemed to be the most cognizant.
Wasn't necessarily a bad beer, but given the other beers that are fruit based or sour from LA, this one is a pass for me in the future if other LA beers are available. Neat to have tried it.

On tap at the Lost Abbey at their 5th Anniversary party. This was made for the party. It's mellow yellow with cherries, raspberries, and acai.
A: Murky maroon with a small pinkish purple head. I think I got the bottom of the keg.
S: Acai, raspberry, and sour cherries. Big lactic profile. Little bit of wood.
T: Lightly tart and very sweet. Lots of fruit. Big raspberry and cherry flavor with pervasive acai. Strong lactic presence.
M: Smooth and sticky on the palate. Low carbonation.
Overall: It would have been nice if they would have waited to tap the keg for the second session at the start of the actual second session, rather than the employees tapping it before and leaving the patrons with the bottom of the keg. I was pretty irritated by that. I would have liked to try the clear pours I saw employees enjoying in pint glasses rather than the murky smoothie I had. Oh well, at least there was a lot of other good beer to drink.
