Pours orange with a light white foam head.

Smells overwhelmingly of hops, with dank citrus, grapefruit, and a bit of pineapple rind thrown in. Just so hoppy.

The taste is a blistering assault. For a DIPA, expected maybe a bit more balancing caramel, tropical sweetness, or lighter citrus notes, but this is all citrus blasting with a bit of an acrid, resin-y finish.

Very drinkable. Nicely sticky.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with a grapefruit juice flavor on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a great smell and some tasty flavors.

Pint from the rude bartender with the mohawk at Pizza Port San Clemente.

A: Dark gold with a big white head and scattered lacing.

S: Sugary caramel with a bit of bread, aromatic grapefruit, and pine. Alcohol is faint. The malt is pretty damn powerful.

T: Resinous pine with pronounced grapefruit and lesser notes of orange. Malt is of sugary caramel and it balances the hop character, nearly overpowering it. Alcohol is evident in the finish.

M: Medium in body with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Not one of Pizza Port's better Double IPAs. It's too malty for my taste and definitely maltier than usual for PPSC. Still, it's pretty good.
