Enjoyed on-tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach in a shaker pint.
Slightly hazy gold with healthy white frothy head with bands of lacing.
Aroma dominated by pine, resin, citrus, tangerine, and a lighter general fruitiness on retronasal.
Flavor is classic WCIPA with heavy tangerine and grapefruit citrus, pine, and resin but very clean through-line of hop flavor overall. Bitterness is moderate-high but also clean and focused. No esters or alcohol notes detected.
Feel is leaner than old school WCIPA with light-medium body, moderate carbonation, and very dry finish. Super drinkable and a dangerous drink for sure.
SB&D from Pizza Port is probably what the locals drink - a beautiful lean WCIPA with tons of aroma and flavor but a wonderful daily IPA. Super delicious and impressive WCIPA.
