On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. I'm happy to try this on tap because the bottle I had was somewhat sour.
A: Dark orange with a finger of white froth.
S: Expressive rye whiskey aroma with notes of vanilla and oak. Aromatic caramel blends with toffee, treacle, and citrus.
T: Brown sugar, caramel, vanilla, oak, and whiskey. Damn that's tame for 12%. A man could ruin his life with such a beverage. There's a low bitterness with accompanying orange and grapefruit. Smooth and balanced finish with a dash of orchard fruit.
M: Medium body with upper medium carbonation. Dry, smooth, sticky mouthfeel with ample warming.
Overall: Somewhere between an Old Ale and a Barleywine. Really good.
