Pours a nearly black opaque with a taupe head. Smoky ashtray, biscuits and bacon gravy, cherry, coffee and chocolate aromas. Mouthfeel is nearly perfect for the style. Smooth, creamy, but not too thick. Milk chocolate up front, smoky olive to malt vinegar, with cherry emerging late. Finishes pretty quickly with a fading feature. This one's a keeper.

On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach. Very dark in color, bordering on black. The head is an inch of light brown froth. Chocolate, oak, and a restrained roasted malt presence blend with a subtle cherry aroma. The flavor is cocoa and milk chocolate with the slightest cherry twist. Molasses blends with a light roasted presence and a dash of coffee. Nice balance between the flavors. Light bitterness with well hidden alcohol and no astringency. Oak is light but evident throughout. I didn't try this fresh but I'm told the cherry character diminished rapidly since then. Regardless, it's still there but very light and I enjoyed this.
