Poured a clear golden orange with a finger of soapy white head.
Smells great to me, a citrus and tropical fruit medley.
Taste is grapefruit, tangerine, melon, pineapple, and a bit of resinous pine. Lingering citrus pith bitterness in the finish.
Medium bodied, alcohol pretty well hidden.
Overall a beer I wish I had regular access to, my first Pizza Port will not be my last.

Had this at the Bistro double/triple IPA festival last Saturday. Pours a light orange color. Small 1/3" white head. Aroma ruptures with a ton of Mosaic and Citra. All the pungent ones seem to these days, and these guys had a knack for dry hopping long before those varieties came out. Nonetheless, that typical down under tropical and citrus nose, plus some Galaxy thrown in to help get those pineapple notes flowing too.

Taste was pretty damn good, the malt body was lighter than you would think given the color of the beer. Hid the alcohol very well. Carbonation on point, higher and appropriate. Bitterness not overly done, these seem to be largely late addition hops all the way. Managed to stand out pretty well despite drinking this one towards the end of the day. Was the best of the three kegs they brought, which, wow, thruster is pretty awesome.

On tap in OB

Smell: hops citrus and tangerine
Taste: big lush hops- sweet and bitey tangerine/manderins, pineapple, grapefruit, malt in there and a touch of honey. Tangerine bitterness lingers
Feel: pretty standard for a double IPA. Very drinkable
Really enjoyed this, solid DIPA

On tap at Pizza Port Ocean Beach. Tulip.

A: Burnished yellow gold with an inch of white froth filling out the top of the glass. Clarity is good, as is head retention. Sheets of lacing cling to the glass as the head slowly recedes.

S: Mellon, tangerine, orange, and a little pine. Malt provides balance in the aroma, redolent of bread and caramel. Kind of muted.

T: Expressive orange and grapefruit with a firm malt base that lends a little sweet caramel and bread. The citrus is juicy and resinous pine is pervasive. Bitterness is at a moderate level. It's very smooth with no harshness. Alcohol becomes more pronounced in the finish as the beer warms. Citrus rind bitterness and alcohol linger.

M: Medium body with upper medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and sticky.

Overall: Not as expressive as I'd hoped. Also a bit heavy and boozy. Leans more toward the American Barleywine end of the spectrum. This wasn't what I was looking for but it's pretty good.
