16oz pounder can poured into an East End Brewing snifter:

Look: Pours an amazing very hazy darker yellow to light orange color, pretty much straw like! About an inch of head present on the pour with heavy lacing that sticks around throughout consumption!

Smell: Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine, cat piss like, and super dank!

Taste: Taste follows the nose for me! High ABV of 9.1% is well hidden! This thing tastes amazing!

Feel: Medium bodied!

Overall: This is the best IPA I have had from Voodoo out of all the recent can releases. Very solid DIPA that is right up there with the best. I will be grabbing more of this one the next time it comes back out!

Got this on tap at the brewery in Erie and it was clear. It was excellent so I got a 4-pack of 16-oz cans to go. On the can it said unfiltered. I wasn't expecting a NE-style hazy IPA out of the cans.

I popped a can a couple weeks later and it was hazy. I mean haaaaaazzzzzyyyyyy. Hazy as all hell.

But with a light golden straw color, *not* the grey murky soup color that some hazy ipas take on. The aroma was melon, grapefruit, honeydew, a bit of pine and spruce that balances the flavor spectrum - just amazing. Taste was consistent with medium-thick body, nice sweetness and almost no bitterness. Feel was almost perfect. Like drinking hop juice. A bit syrupy, like honey. The unfiltered cans of this beer could go toe-to-toe with Tree House, Trillium, Veil or any of the other top NE-Style IPAs.

If you like NE-style hazy IPAs, get the unfiltered cans and get as many as you can. This is a top notch IPA from a brewery that continues to maintain stratospheric levels of quality.

Overall this beer is pretty fantastic. It has a dank aroma that offers plenty of galaxy hop feel (melon, mellow citrus, grape). It has a fantastic mouth feel with good malt characteristic and nothing overpowering like the 37 pieces of flare with the rye it offers. Overall, this is the best voodoo IPA I have had. It is simple but the galaxy hops offer something complex. I just wish I got another 4 pack! A must purchase in the western PA beer scene.

Crowler to tulip

L: light straw color. Clear.
S: sweetness, like a high sugar fruit. maybe passion fruit? Dankness if an IPA follows.
T: follows nose with some bitterness on the backend.A slight burn from the abv. Not unlike an "enjoy by" offering.
F: like many voodoo brews, this is thier weakest part. Such a big beer (9+ abv) should carry a bigger body. Very close to good vibes in the body.
O: very sweet, very boozy. Enjoyed it for what it was: high abv pale ale. Try if you can , but don't cry if you miss it.

Edit: I had this recently from a 16oz can and found it very different. Unfiltered, so a hazy look. Body (my many issue) was much thicker. An improvement in my eyes.

On tap at Voodoo Homestead in Homestead, PA.

Pours an nice rich amber color, with some golden yellow tinges, with a half inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like candied pineapple, grapefruit, pine, a little bit of cat piss, and some caramel malt.

This was a nice respite in the midst of the barrel-aged malty maelstrom that was the Voodoo Homestead opening. There lots of tropical fruit- candied pineapple and candied grapefruit, with a little bit of mint, caramel malt, and a good amount of pine.

This is medium bodied, with a very crisp mouthfeel. It's very drinkable, with no alcohol presence at all.

Going into this, I thought a Double IPA with Galaxy hops was essentially a shoe-in for a great beer, and I was right. This was mucho tasty.

Thank you TommyGuz for the growler. Poured into a matching Voodoo teku, the brew appears a beautiful clear golden copper with a finger of off-white head. The aroma is straight hop pellets, super dank and catty. Tastes very bitter and oily almost soapy with a dank flavor that gets slightly catty and minorly vegetative towards the finish. Medium bodied, modestly carbonated and a nice alcohol warmth. Pretty good stuff but imo not Voodoo's best hoppy offering.
