Draft at Meridian Voodoo. Clear amber pour, tight white foamy head. Light fruity aroma, caramel. Taste is sweet, toffee, hoppy, malty, but pretty gentle, meaning the ABV isn't readily apparent. Pleasant surprise.

I am trying this beer off the tapper as part of a six sample flight. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dank warm fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with robust semi sweet malt base with a dank slightly sour tropical fruit smash presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Canned 2/6/23. Drank 3/29/23.
Pour is a clear golden / burnt orange / light copper. tight finger of off white head. Good lacing and retention.
Nose is pine, resin, citrus rind, orange rind. Aroma begins to present more authoritatively as the beer warms.
Taste follows. citrus rind, resin, pine, grapefruit, firm bitterness, balanced by a subtle caramel malt backbone. Wonderful Imperial IPA. Orange rind. Subtle alcohol sweetness presents as the beer warms. Doesn’t distract from the overall enjoyment of the beer, though.
Body is nice and crisp; doesn't get sweet or cloying. Easy to drink.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep golden amber color with a small head of white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time and leaving a decent sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a nice sweet tropical fruit aroma with lots of pineapple and papaya. Mixed with these smells comes a rather sizable grapefruit hop and some nice herbal and pine smells. Doughy aromas and a bit of grain balance out the sweet and the hop rather nicely and with a notes of melon and a bit of hay, a very rich and sweet, but quite balanced aroma is produced overall.
Taste – The taste starts with a mix of a doughy and bready malt flavor that is paired with some fruit flavors of a tropical nature (tangerine, papaya, pineapple) and some pear and grape. Right from the start there is a rather strong presence of hop, with it initially being mainly of a pine and grapefruit nature, but then transitioning to include more herbal hop. All the while as the taste advances so to do some light alcohol tastes and some flavors of grass. There is an increase in the sweet and the hop more toward the flavor profile transition with a bit of caramel and more pine coming to the tongue, in the end leaving one with a somewhat more resinous and slightly more malty, but quite approachable taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium to slightly thicker in chewiness with a carbonation level that is a bit on the higher side. For the mix of malt, resinous hop, and moderate fruit flavors, the feel is nice and creates a nice mouthcoating feel and maintains a great easy drinking nature (even at 8.9 % abv.)
Overall – A rather nice double with a good flavor profile and dangerously easy drinkability (even with the light alcohol presence). A brew I would definitely come back to again.

I love positive beer surprises. Found a random can of this in my beer fridge, likely a leave-behind by a friend at some point in the past month or two. No canned on date, but a best by date of 2/14/2021, so this thing is supposedly well beyond prime. I opened it expecting a pretty mediocre experience (at best), but instead, it's a really damn good beer!
Given the world of hazies we currently live in, without knowing anything about the beer I just expected a NE IPA. But this is West Coast (albeit a juicy one) all the way. Or at least much of the way. Pale copper-gold body with a mild opaqueness. Good, creamy, eggshell head initially, decent retention, excellent lacing. This one looks sticky!
C-hop medley with big citrus, stone fruit, and tropical fruit, plus lots of resin, dank grass, and sweet malts. Some candied fruit sweetness, but not overdone. Pretty herbal, floral, and dank. Strong grapefruit, pineapple, melon, and overripe tropical fruit on the backend. Great hybrid IPA nose.
I've gotten so used to flavor profiles not being able to keep up with the other senses, but here the taste is the best part of the beer. The C-hops really shine through with strong citrus pith, excellent resiny characteristics, lots of grapefruit and herbal greenery, and a fantastic malt sweetness that comes through as very clean. Dangerous at 8.9%, as this thing drinks unbelievably easy save for the strong bitterness from the citrus rind and pine. But that bitterness nearly perfectly balances the malt and fruit sweetness. Reminds me of some of Lagunitas' bigger, danker IPAs in that way (which is high praise). This is incredibly tasty 5-6 weeks past it's "best by" date. Either Voodoo is terrible at determining that date, or this thing is otherworldly when fresher.
I might expect the beer to be a little chewier and heftier given the ABV and knowing that it's basically an older school IIPA, but that is quickly forgiven because it coats the tongue and teeth beautifully and provides a highly appealing degree of stickiness. Silky smooth and goes down easy. Absolutely zero heat or awareness that this is a 9% beer. And the sugared grapefruit aftertaste is absolutely fantastic.
I will most definitely be keeping an eye out for fresh cans of this in the future. Suffice it to say, my first Voodoo beer experience was a very good one.

Foggy burnt orange to amber with a tall off-white head that slowly settles to a fluffy blanket clinging in tall curtains of meringue all the way around.
Fluffy and full of body, yet not heavy, orange juice and zest characteristics pair with balancing but mild herbal and perfuming elements of pine, as well as a variety of evergreen even more generally. This all comes to a pleasantly semi-dry finish, exhaling a touch of biscuit. Next to other IPAs, it's also more subtle with hints of apple.
This brew retains that fluffy feel for days--another Voodoo regular with an excellent presence of carbonation in execution.

medium dark golden color. some burnt orange tinge. solid frothy pillowed head. smells about 9% in terms of alcohol; malted and semi-sweet, with some backbone of hops in there. tastes more hoppy than it smells. quite good. malt is very forward- not light malt flavor, but that caramel feel and flavor. still some good bitter in there and aromatic hop character. almost the slightest taste of a golden raisin. feels just about standard for a DIPA- full with some fizz and a little kick of ABV. would drink again. well done.
