Very seriously obsidian black, its short mocha blanket swiftly dies off to nothing.
The smooth, firmly medium body has a silkiness to it, delivering a nutty woodiness and a black peppery oak bringing some heat in the powder dry finish where it thins out, exhaling that rye spice from the barrel. A touch of bourbon spiked butterscotch and toffee increases the heat over time, but the smooth chocolatey body tempers the booze well.

Drank on my birthday following a 2018 bcbs prop, talk about 2 bangers.
Not that this is meant to be a comparison but this can't touch the props chocolate aromas - loterally rated that beer a 5 on smell. I'll give this guy the nudge on taste though. A little more complex, definitely less sweet and a LOT more barrel.
The rye in this beer is just stellar. There is SO MUCH BARREL its incredible. Super rich stout with layers and layers of oak, vanilla, and spicy rye heat.
Feel is stupendous, thick, and chewy.
Overall stellar like the prop. If I had to pick one again to drink it would be tough. The prop was amazing at first but became a bit of a chore drinking through the sweetness. Id had to go with the zangief because i prefer more roasty barrely stouts.
