Slightly foggy burnt gold with a short white head that fizzles out surprisingly quickly to a fine chain and a stealthily roiling center.
I'm getting a little corn bread and also a hint of toasted white wheat backed by a slight tang of floral hops before it returns to a bready exhale.
The medium body is finely frothy and finishes with a tingly semi-dry swallow where a touch of white grape emerges.
While the thread to their Foeder Aged Lagerbier is direct, this base version isn't much different, and only slightly less evolved, and as such is markedly less satisfying by comparison. Alas, I spoiled my palate on the finer things.
