Barely foggy gold, darkening at the edges, a moderate but fluffy white blanket slowly dies to a thin film on the surface, dispersing out to a thicker ring.
Taste is unusually malty, both toasty and corny, but also tart of lemon, grapefruit and even pear notes. This pairing is super odd, but seems to work well enough as a mild sour. Still, it's very out of the ordinary compared to most kettle sours these days. There's even a grainy note that's almost like Cheerios.
The medium body has a firm but lightening fizz that finishes semi-dry.
It took me quite some contemplation to really put my finger on it, but now that I have it, it's unmistakable. There's this hint of clove that conceals itself within the tart yet malty flavors, but once it blooms and becomes identifiable on the palate, it immediately clicks as a sour hefeweizen, and I can no longer think of it as anything else.
