A pitch black pour with absolutely zero agitated carbonation. As the beer settles there are tight, tiny formations circling the beer, but at a glance this beer appears still.
The nose is dry and complex - notes of baker’s chocolate, tobacco, smoked leather, and cigar box. There’s a touch of raisiny sweetness on the backend.
The palate characterizes much of the same, albeit with a touch more of underlying richness. Charred oak, firewood, raisin, and a touch of astringency. The barrel is the star of the show here, without a doubt.
The mouthfeel isn’t too full, with the carbonation low but present on the front end of the palate. There’s the slightest touch of residual bitterness and ethanol warmth on the finish.

Stark glossy black with a short but firm dark brown head that quickly disperses to a short collar.
The oak is really on showcase here, yet not woody, if that makes sense. It's a fine oak that's really maturing, almost like cedar, but subtler. Darker chocolates lean more into Milk Duds and Reisen here, not crossing into dark fruit territory, but hinting that they want to.
The medium body has a finely crackly then expanding carbonation that comes to a bone dry, slightly warming finish.
Though the most assertive of the series, at the same time, especially at this point, what's undoubtedly most remarkable is just how chocolatey all of these are.
