poured from a black-waxed 12oz bottle into a perennial snifter. pours like thick black goop with the faintest dark brown bubbles that quickly fade away. light chocolate and barrel on the nose with some oak and tobacco in there too. get a little more chocolate on the nose than i typically do from voodoo BA stouts. a little less in the taste however but more bourbon, oak and dark fruits. it’s a rich and intense sipper. thick, full mouthfeel. perfectly carbed. these 2L blends have been fantastic from what i’ve been able to try. wish the chocolate i get on the nose would have transferred to the taste but this is still quite excellent.

Pouring a viscously unbroken ribbon of burnt motor oil, it fills the glass like tar, entirely devoid of visible carbonation, including any semblance of head.
Unsurprisingly, the nose is all of the Voodoo BRC. It's a touch ashy and leathery, though perhaps a little more chocolatey to start, as though drizzled over walnuts, including a bitter toastiness enhanced by mild barrel chars.
Taste, however, is a few notches more tangy than these often are, overloaded with dark malt acids that give sharp espresso vibes with hints of plum.
The body is a little lighter with a finer carbonation and a thinner finish than its appearance would suggest. It's also a touch less warming and boozy than other crus, which could otherwise be punishing within this lighter body.
Though I love their blends, and this is still an enjoyably mature expression, it's my least favorite 2LGC.

The viscosity is motor oil-thick on the pour. Almost zero agitated carbonation, with only a small, deep brown-colored ring settling above the body of the beer.
The nose is rich and sweet initially. Getting notes of Port wine, dark chocolate, and hints of banana.
The palate is stark and aggressively barrel-forward. There’s a restrained yet present tartness that hits immediately at colder temperature. The oak adds noticeably drying tannin; sharp booze follows closely, characterized by caramelized fruit, boot leather, and pipe tobacco.
The mouthfeel is heavy, syrupy, and mildly dry. There’s pleasant warmth throughout, with a very low, effervescent carbonation.
