New this year, we took half of that same batch of CAUTION! CONTAINS REAL PUMPKIN!!! (aged in Heaven Hill barrels like last year) and brewed it up with some pumpkin pie cheesecake. We felt the notes of sweet pumpkin, graham cracker, vanilla and caramel blend well with this barleywine.

I was surprised to see this is still the clear brown whiskey-like fluid regular CAUTION typically is. It does build a short tan head of fluid bubbles, but that fizzles out to a fully translucent surface, furthering its whiskey-like appearance.
I do detect a bit of a graham cracker crust flavor, which pairs well with a bittering toasty barrel char in the finish, but it's not particularly expressive of cheesecake characteristics really.
It's also still lighter in body than your typical barleywine, as CAUTION has always been, delivering a sort of caramelized squashy pumpkin flavor as opposed to any overload of spice or other flavorings, so it's always got that going for it. It threatens to spike the palate, but recedes without any overwhelming booze or heat, or sweetness.
