Poured from a gold-waxed 375mL bottle into a Perennial snifter. Pours a thick black with a thin layer of menacing dark brown foam head that quickly fades away. Bourbon, oak, chocolate and light vanilla on the nose and taste. It’s not overly sweet and while it’s bourbon-forward it isn’t hot. This bottle does have some age on it so that could be a factor here but overall this is really good. As most Black Magicks tend to be. Thick mouthfeel. These aren’t usually all that different from each other to my tastebuds but they’re always great.

8 ball black with a thin tan head that quickly recedes to a fine chain leaving fluid legs on the glass.
This brings me back to some of the early Black Magicks, as it's solidly in the smokier realm, with heavy dark oaks and chars up front, though not going so far as campfire. Hints of vanilla bean and maybe even a brandy sort of tang pop up, avoiding cherry or grape, but relating to its booze expression.
A bit crackly or sharp, it gradually improves as it warms due to a little more viscosity before a surprisingly clean, dry, slightly tanniny finish. It has a few too many rough edges relative to the brand's pedigree.
