On cask at Belfast Beer Festival ‘15
Creamy clingy oatmeal-tan with chocolate-brown black. 4.25
Sweet roast, chocolate and brown sugar - but also some artificial vanilla? 3.75
Speck of chocolate, mulch, watered down treacle then leafy hops. 3.75
Bit of red berry to end and a truffley linger.
Light to medium, dry, crisp. 3.75
Not as sweet as the nose. Roast is astringent without any matching chocolate (malt.) Leaner than it needs to be. 3.75

500 mL brown (almost black) bottle poured into a pint glass.
A: black/dark brown (dark chocolate-coloured) beer with no head, only a few beige bubbles.
S: smells of dark chocolate/cocoa and espresso--particularly that of a strong cappuccino.
T: has a bitter coffee aftertaste that is surprisingly pleasant and familiar. I'm amazed at how pleasantly bitter this is!
M: almost oily on the first sip (in a good way), with moderate to light carbonation and moderate body
D: very drinkable beer in spite of all its quirkiness!
