Gaslight's Porter...
Appearance-pitch black, as in no light comes through it, decent head at first but dissapears quickly, leaving nothing but tiny bubbles.
Smell-some notes of chocolate, roasted barley permeates a lot with burnt hop aroma.
Taste-full taste, thick with trademark roasted barley flavor, Gaslight uses their signature malt here, I can taste it and while I normally like it it doesn't fit that well here, just seems slightly off. Ok though, goes down smoothly.
Mouthfeel-decent enough, leaves a thick aftertaste of roasted barley and coffee. Burnt feeling at the end, ok though.
Drinkability-easy enough to drink many if you like it, weak alcohol content and ok porter profile.
Overall-this should be a good porter, it has all the characteristics of a decent one except for some reason the malt profile Gaslight uses in their ales is prevalent in here and it doesn't work. I don't get it, they don't make this mistake in their stout. Overall I didn't think it meshed well, its worth a try but nothing to write home about.
