Pours almost pitch black with slight ruby highlights around the edges. A tan head fizzles away, though enough of a ring is left to leave slight traces of lacing.
The smell is of dark oat malt. Dark fruitiness underneath. Some sourish notes emerge as it progresses.
The taste is of roasted, slightly smoky, oat malt. Chocolate with hints of coffee. Dark berry-like fruitiness underneath. Finishes with a woody sweetness.
It's on the lighter side side of medium. The carbonation doesn't seem to hold up after the first few sips, leaving it rather flat. Still, it remains fairly smooth.
Wish that it ended as it began, but still, enough of it holds together to make it worthy enough
