On-tap at Gaslight Brewery & Restaurant, South Orange, NJ
A: The beer is close to being jet black in color - traces of dark red are visible near the corner of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a thin tan head that rapidly dissipated.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts are present in the nose along with some hints of roasted malts.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except there are stronger notes of roasted malts and hints of molasses.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a low amount of carbonation.
O: This isn't a bad beer for the style but seemed like it could really use more work in its head retention and carbonation.
