Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark brown color with a good finger’s worth of foamy off white head. Dissipated gently to leave some clingy stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet milk chocolate, gentle Irish coffee creamer, roasted coffee beans and some dark chocolate nibs. The flavor blended very nice between the roast and the sweet fully encasing all of the aromas together to present a very nice aftertaste (what every oatmeal stout should be going for). Quick roasty to semi-sweet and light bitter finish. The feel was medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Oatmeal helps smooth out the roast which tried to bring some abrasion to my tongue. Overall, remember in Indiana Jones movie when Belloq points to the ark of the covenant and says "this, this is history?" Yes, this is what I say, "this, this is the oatmeal stout you all have been looking for. Make your own history and get this beer.

Reviewed on 6/24/2010. On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted, smoked, and charred malt with some parmesean cheese. Flavor of chalky bitter chocolate and a weak malt base. A decent stout but nothing special.

Appearence-wise, this one leaves something to be desired. Has almost no head at all, but on the up-side, it's a nice deep black color. Smells almost exactly like Guinness, only slightly weaker. Taste-wise, it doesn't really have much flavor at all... simply tastes like a watered-down Guinness. If you're looking for a weak stout, I guess this would be a good choice for you. However, I wasn't really a fan. Their other brews, for the most part, have a much better quality to them.
