Not exactly what comes to mind when I think of pale ales, but still a pretty good beer. I guess I've been drinking too many DIPAs.
I thought this beer tipped more toward malts, rather than hops, and after checking their website I see they refer to it as a "Malty Pale Ale"
There was a solid balance of sweet caramel and toast flavors balanced by crisp citrus rinds. But I couldn't help feeling they just didn't take it far enough.
Feel was smooth and easy to drink. Crisp and enjoyable on a warm Spring day. But I still think they can take this one a couple steps further.
