Had on tap at JJ BItting. Poured nice amber color with a decent white head. Smell fairly fruity and floral with strong hops. Taste was very full and floral then a lingering bitter finish. Great pale ale, very bitter and complex but not overpowering. Super smooth feel, can drink this all night.

J.J. Bitting- Hopgarden Pale Ale

Appearance- Acorn brown with a moderate head. Laced the glass nicely.
Smell- Pine and citrus notes, nothing strong or overpowering.
Taste- Nice evenly balanced bitter pine hops with a dry grapefruit taste.
Mouthfeel- Slighty watery. A slightdry bitterness in the beginning.

Overall- A moderate Pale Ale. I drank this so quick I barely remembered it. My favorite J.J. Bitting beer.

Pours a slightly hazy amber body with golden highlights beneath a one-fingered head of creamy antique-white foam that holds fairly well before dropping to a standard collar - and leaves some nice splashes of lace about the glass as well.
In the nose its grassy, floral, and spruce-like hop notes dominate over a delicately biscuity/bready maltiness.
It's crisp and medium bodied in the mouth with just enough zest to get the tastebuds going!
The flavor is very much as the nose indicates with a variety of hoppy flavors interwoven into a base of biscuity/lightly toasty/grainy malt that's backed by a solid bitterness. It finishes dry and refreshing with some mild, lingering hop notes.

Pale amber in color with a white head and nice lace. Huge floral hop aroma along with some citrus and notes of malt. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Wonderful hop flavor dominates, citrus and an earthy floral flavors with a some malt in the backround. An assertive bitterness lashes the tounge, but is not out of place. Finishes slightly dry with lingering bitterness. A good American Pale Ale.

Pours golden amber with a creamy head that is well-retained. Rings of lacing stick to the sides of the glass.

The smell is of mild citrus and earthy grains.

Upon tasting, citrus, bitter hops make a grand appearance. Orange and grapefruit greet the palate. At first, I was thinking - is this a mislabeled IPA? But, soon a sweet, grainy malt follows through to balance it out nicely. It retains a balance throughout, though leaning towards the generous amount of hops.

It's medium bodied and pretty smooth.

This is a nice, flavorful Pale Ale. A good choice for a pale ale that leans towards the hops.

Orangish hazed color, with a white head. This was the best beer at J.J. Bittings. A very good pale ale, that has a very good dry hops finish and leaves you wanting another one. Fruity and floral, it left sticky rings on the sides of the glass. Definitely the pint to buy at J.J.'s.

Growler purchased earlier today poured into a nonic pint glass.

A - Pours a bright colored golden orange color with a one finger white foam head.

S - Very nice hoppy aroma on this one. Very citrusy/piny on the nose.

T - A citrusy hop punch on the initial sip. A nice amount of bitterness coming through after that with some malt balancing things a bit at the end. Very nice.

M - Feels smooth in the mouth. Moderate carbonation.

D - Very good. Definitely one of the better brews I've ever had that would qualify as a "session" beer. Good choice with food, or to slug down pint after pint in the barroom with a friend.

Notes: My favorite I;ve tried from bitting so far other than their cask IPA. Can't wait to try this one on cask next time they have it.

It pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. The aroma has a lot of hops mostly floral with some citrus as well. The bitterness runs the show, but there is some sweet malts. Mostly it is clean and light with a nice bitter punch. A beer to look for at any visit.

Purchased at the brewery, served in a pint glass at fridge temperature.

A- Medium gold, OK carbonation and ensuing head. Good weight to it on the eyes... it's not going to wimp out.

S- Nice, homebrewed scent of yeast and hops, very fresh and alive... totally consistent with any of JJ's offerings to date. Floral notes abound as the beer begins to open up.

T- A full, satisfying mouthful of bread, hops, and yeast... with a smooth but prevalent bitterness in the finish. Simple and straightforward in its presentation, to its credit.

M/D- Alive and active in the mouth, but not to its detriment. A great session Pale Ale, whenever you're in town... this is worth seeking out.

Medium orange/amber color and moderate foam head poured from a freshly filled growler. Inviting floral hop aroma. The hop flavors tend more on the citrus or floral side with a generous bitterness that is backed up by a significant malt presence. This is a flavorful beer that is a great choice from this skilled brewpub. Definitely a session beer to enjoy.
