Sadly, they delivered it in a glass that was dirty on the outside, but I'm trying not to let that shadow this review. The beer is a cloudy amber that is darker near the top than the bottom. The physical law that the wider, the more material the light needs to go through and thus, darker it appears. If you hadn't figured that out on your own already.
The first whiff is pretty piny from the hops and there's a backing sour spiciness from the rye. Not bad, but it does taste better than it smells. The rye is more assertive on the tongue and the pine form the hops takes a backseat, but is still present. There's a general sense of sour cider that lingers into the aftertaste.
It has a decent, nearly medium body to it and I have to say I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this beer. This might be my favorite beer that I've had here and it went quite well with the pulled pork sandwich.

A - dark cloudy red with a nice amount of fluffy white head, thick lacing
S - very malty, a little sweet (caramel?)
T - crisp, fruity, malty, and caramel
M - smooth and crisp, very refreshing
O - not a bad rye beer at all, and i am going to go ahead and say it is their best beer aside from the whales ipa at the moment

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
