From a growler tasted the day after the purchase. Poured into Weizen glass.
Pours dark brown with one-inch, maintained head.
The smell is of banana/clove. Banana stands out strongly, almost masking other flavors. If I had my eyes closed, would have guessed it to be a HW. That being said, it was inoffensive and inviting enough.
The taste was of banana and some clove. Again, the banana is expected, even wanted, but seems to mask other flavors until the drink progressees quite a bit, at which point some sweet dark malt emerges. Finishes rather sweet and clean.
A bit thin, but refreshingly smooth. Would have liked the flavor to hang on a little longer. Seems somewhat of an abrupt finish,
Very drinkable. Smooth and refreshing. As previously stated, the banana (and clove, to a lesser degree), really stands out, but enough of the malt catches up in the finish to make it something different than a HW. Worthwhile to order. I enjoyed it a bit more fresh from the tap, though the growler was fresh.
