Very 1/4 inch head at pour which dissipates quickly. The smell is of nutmeg, cinammon and cloves. First sip I can taste the cloves. No pumpkin at all. Slightly spicy. Nice and crisp. Not heavy at all. Despite the lack of a head there is a lot if carbonation. Nice amber pumpkin orange color. A light tasting beer but since there is no pumpkin flavor that I can detect this is a big letdown.

First had: on tap at their brewery

One of the best, if not the best, pumpkin ales I've had, and definitely the best beer I sampled from this brewery.

Poured slighty hazy burnt orange with a finger of white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Light, unsuspecting, malty aroma. The taste starts out with the pumpkin, then a BLAST of intense spice; cinnamon, nutmeg, and all things pumpkin pie. Smooth caramel malts in the background, and just enough hops to give a decent balance, and provide just a hint of citrus twang. Medium mouthfeel and very drinkable...especially in autumn.

Appearance: orange in color with a short 1/2" head that breaks apart quickly. No lace develops.

Smell: light pumpkin and cinnamon is easily detectable.

Taste: caramel, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a decent bitterness makes up a pretty tasty ale for the season.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout. Aftertaste is short as the flavors leave the mouth quickly.

Drinkability: good for the style of beer, as a few of these could be quaffed without getting bored. Worth a try.

A= Medium amber color, light head about one finger dissipates quickly
S= Almost no aroma at all, light all spice scent
T= Citrus taste to start followed slowly by pumpkin undertones. Lighter pumpkin flavor than I expected
M=Lower carbonation than a lot of beers but pleasantly smooth
D= Good. Easy to have a couple on an autumn day

Overall the only problems were the lack of a real pumpkin flavor and the lack of aroma. Still a very tasty beer

Nose is of malt and pumpkin spices such as vanilla and ginger snaps. Taste is similar to nose in the front with clean flavor and a slight twang in the finish. Beautiful amber with dense head. Mouthfeel and drinkability are good. Finish is lingering and bristling. Mouthfeel is somewhat rounded by malt.

Enjoyed many a pint over the last couple of weeks in the oddly warm weather. Side note- this goes real well with their sweet potato fries.

A: A bit lighter than most pumpkin ales and what I had expected. Dull head was a nice texture.

S: I did not catch that much pumpkin or pumpkin pie spices in the aroma, but oddly enough found it more in the taste. If anything, the nutmeg stuck out a bit.

T: One word: malty. I really enjoyed the fact that it wasnt dominated by spices making it seem like a pumpkin pie. Unlike the aroma, caught many more of the spices here- particularly the nutmeg again.

M: One time caught it being a bit more carbonated than other visit but well done.

D: I can attest to having several of these over the last few weeks and plan to grab a growler or two while its still brewing.

Looking forward to catching the yanks tonight with a few of these.

Im looking very much forward to the upcoming Oktoberfest and especially the intriguing-sounding Imperial Pumpkin.
