Our lightest choice, the German style Kölschbier is brewed with malted wheat creating a slightly fruity, mild beer with a dry finish. A gentle touch of noble hops lends balance and a delicate hop aroma.

Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Bready nose. The flavor is a lemon/biscuit combo that tasted true to the Kolsch style. I've always found Kolsch to be a great refreshing summer in the heat option, and Moonlight definitely served that purpose.

Pours a clear gold color with some carbonation. A bit of a floral aroma comes through, but not much. The taste is crisp and clean with a nice dry finish. Besides that, I didn't taste much of anything. It was a very one-dimensional beer and not one I would buy again. Very drinkable, but at the cost of actual flavor. It did actually taste a bit better once it warmed up a bit. Mouthfeel was also unremarkable.

7/25...bright clear gold, low aroma. Fresh. Clean taste, enough malt to impart a flavor, but not sweet or sticky. Smooth, touch of carbonation. Great start to the sampler.

poured at harvest moon. Pours a light pale color with a good head
very fresh with aromas of grains, citrus, and cereal. Nice tones, but lacking depth
light with a nice and crisp feel. Straightforward though on the flavors of grains and citrus.
This is very enjoyable. Straightforward, it's not a serious beer, but it is honest and easy drinking

First had: on tap at their brewery
As usual, I'm not extremely fond of lighter styles of beer. Not to say I don't like any, but this wasn't exactly a top contender.
Poured a clear golden color with little to no head. Light aroma as would be expected: sweet malts and a hint of hops. Grainy, bready taste with light malts, and very light citrusy hops. Pretty well balanced, I suppose. Light body and drinkable if you're in the casual/non-adventurous mood.

I had this on tap 11-22-10. I first had a sampler then made my choice with this one.
Poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear golden color with decent white heading. Left some nice bright white lacing all the way down the glass.
Smell was a little light in all aspects. A subtle hoppiness with a crisper, grainy maltiness. Also a bit of a fruity aroma.
Taste to me was great. Again a little grainy, wheaty even with a nice bite of bitter hops in it and a slight fruitiness.
Mouth is crisp, light and finishes cleaner than clean.Nice carbonation that tingles on the palate.
Excellent drinkability nothing spectacular but a very solid brew.

I have enjoyed a lot of Kolsch and look for it whenever I can. This was more like a generic homebrew than a true Kolsch. I applaud Harvest Moon for attempting this but it does not make me think Kolsch.
There was very little head but the color was nice, except a little cludy, which is not Kolsch, and the taste was smooth.
I would drink it again, but hesitate to call this a Kolsch.

This was on tap at Harvest Moon on 11/22/2008. They served it to me in a pint glass.
This Kölsch poured a really clear gold color. It wasn't quite a straw yellow color. On top of this gold brew was a small less than 1/4 of an inch head of pure white foam. It had OK retention that only left behind a small string of tiny white rings. Even for the Kölsch style, the aroma was too light. The aroma was light with malted wheat and a hint of crispy floral hops. Swirling it around does nothing for the aroma. The taste was light, but not as light as the aroma was. It was light with malted wheat, a touch of juicy fruits, and then this light beer finishes up on the dry side with some slightly bitter fruity hops. This was clearly a light bodied beer with a nice crispy aftertaste of malted wheat and floral hops. Overall, this was an easy drinking flavorful session Kölsch. If you're looking to start off or end with a light beer at Harvest Moon, then this is the beer to do it with.

Pours golden with patch rather than a head. Patch stays, leaving some lacing.
The smell is grainy, bready, yeasty, some wheat tang, with slightly fruity, floral notes.
The taste is of wort - quite homebrew-esque. Husky/dusty. Saved somewhat by grainy and slight floral/fruity notes. Sweetish finish.
Pretty watery, with mild carbonation, it does have a crispness to it though.
Drinkable enough to wash down some grub with, if you don't mind the wort-like character to it.
